Our final days in Colorado were spent walking around the village of Crested Butte and visiting the WWII Aviation museum in Colorado Springs.

We window shopped in the village, and the kids tried on lots of hats.

The mediterranean cafe–Pitas in Paradise–served up some delicious food.

There were dogs everywhere; even where you would least expect them, like behind the wheel of a truck.

Before driving home, we spent a day in Colorado Springs with Jake and Tiffany, touring the WWII Aviation museum. The guided tour began with a summary of the war.

The boys relished all the planes–actual and model. They observed that they had many of the same model planes at home, which they had assembled over the years.

We saw the actual trainer in which WWII pilots learned to fly.

A highlight of the museum was the simulator. Both Jeremy

and Ruth excelled in their flights.

That night, we stayed at Tiffany’s parents’ house. The girls were twins for the evening!

And a musical monkey made a guest appearance.
