Final Field Trip: Adler

We took our final field trip of the school year to the Adler Planetarium.

Jake played hooky from his science classes that day so he could join us.

When we first arrived, the kids were challenged to build an apparatus that would take water from Earth to Mars.

Jeremy’s favorite exhibit was Mission Moon, which followed the life of astronaut Jim Lovell. They had the actual Gemini 12 capsule on display. It was amazing to know that it actually went into space!

Then the kids landed on the moon.

Derek explored Antarctica wearing a heavy coat and gloves…and shorts.

They performed experiments with electricity from plasma balls.

The weather was gorgeous, so we ate lunch outside by the lake.

What a great way to cap off our school year!
